Solid lock, good support

I ordered a Foldylock Forever Gold a few weeks ago. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. It arrived in about 6 days, which was reasonable for standard shipping to my address in California. I had a quick question about mounting it to my bike frame, so I used their online chat support. The person I spoke with was helpful and clarified the instructions for me. The lock itself feels very sturdy and well-made. I've been using it daily, and it's easy to fold and unfold. The weight is noticeable, but it feels secure when locked up. Overall, a positive experience from start to finish.

Consistently reliable locks

I've been buying from Seatylock for a while now, this was my third purchase; I picked up a Viking Chain Lock 110 this time. My previous Foldylock Classic is still going strong after two years, and the Foldylock Mini I got for my son's bike has held up well too. The quality is consistently high across their products. What I appreciate is that they always deliver on time, usually within a week. Their products just feel robust, and I haven't had any issues with the mechanisms sticking or anything like that. It's why I keep coming back, really – the peace of mind is worth it. They're a solid choice for bike security.

Good value for a U-lock

I was looking for a good U-lock that wouldn't break the bank and landed on the Mason 180 U-Lock. I managed to catch a seasonal sale, which made the price point even better. Shipping was free, which always helps with the overall cost. The lock itself feels very robust for what I paid. I was comparing it to some other brands, and this seemed to offer the best security rating for the money. It's a solid piece of equipment, and the value felt good. I feel like I got a good deal on a quality lock.

Got my Foldylock

Just got the Foldylock Compact Black. It shipped pretty fast, got here in like 4 days to Florida. It's a bit heavier than I thought but it seems really tough. Easy to use though, not complicated at all. Feels good knowing my bike is safe.

What's the return policy like? Just in case the Seatylock Gel isn't comfortable for my bike.

R Robert W. 1 week ago
Pretty straightforward. I returned a lock once because I ordered the wrong size, and it was no hassle. Just follow the instructions on their site, I think it's like 30 days.

Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month. Just make sure it's in original condition.

Does anyone know if SeatyLock does student discounts? Or like, any kind of discount for a first-time buyer?

J Justin Hall 1 month ago
Yeah, they definitely have a student discount! I think you usually have to verify through some service. Also, sign up for their newsletter, they almost always send a first-order code that way.

I got 10% off for signing up for emails. Not sure about student specific, but always check their site banners too, they sometimes have codes there.

Thinking about getting a Foldylock Compact or a Kryptonite Evolution Mini. Anyone have experience with both or can say which is better for a commuter bike?

T Thomas Gonzalez 21 hours ago
The Foldylock is way more portable, which is a huge plus for commuting. It mounts super neatly to the frame. Kryptonite is solid, but it's a U-lock, so a bit bulkier to carry around. Security-wise, both are good, but the Foldylock's convenience wins for me.

I switched from a Kryptonite U-lock to a Foldylock Classic and love the flexibility. Easier to lock to weird poles. The security level is comparable for most urban situations, I think.

Hey, I'm looking at getting a Foldylock Forever. I live in NYC. Any idea how long shipping usually takes to get here?

E Elizabeth Scott 4 weeks ago
Mine took about 5 business days to get to me in Brooklyn. They ship from a US warehouse so it's pretty quick usually.

L Laura Scott 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I got my Compact in like a week to Jersey, so NYC should be similar. Nothing crazy long.

Wondering if these Foldylocks are actually good against bolt cutters? Or is it just marketing hype?

A Amanda Green 3 weeks ago
From what I've seen and read, they're pretty tough. The links are designed to be hard to get a good angle on with cutters. Not totally invincible, but way better than a cheap cable lock for sure.

Mine has held up well in a high-theft area. I think they use hardened steel, so it's not like a regular chain.
